Above this is defined as 'overweight'.
A BMI over 30 is defined as 'obese'.

It should be noted that this method gives a rough guideline only as BMI tells us nothing about body composition or fat content.
Muscle is denser than fat, so some very lean muscular people could be classed as overweight, by this method.
