Site aims and objectives
Pain-talk is run by, and for, Healthcare Professionals on a 'not-for-profit' basis, and provides an on-line discussion forum for individuals to share their experiences (good or bad!), ask questions, request help etc. etc.
Pain-talk's discussion topics are only limited by your imagination!
Pain-talk aims to fill a gap in our current support, information gathering, and information sharing networks.
Pain-talk features lead articles written by those working within Pain Management.
Pain-talk provides links to some of the best pain related Internet sites (as well as highlighting some of the 'more questionable' sites that the web has to offer!)
Pain-talk lists Study Days, Meetings & Conferences, & can help you to publicise yours.
Pain-talk does not (and will never) charge its forum users.
Pain-talk values your input, and encourages contributions from any practitioner with an active interest in pain management.

Why did we start Pain-talk.co.uk?
Many of us have good support networks both within our own areas of work, and outside, often relying on semi-formal and informal links. The value of extending these links is reinforced whenever we attend conferences or study days. It is often the information we share with those around us at these events that proves of equal (or sometimes greatest) worth.
Having run discussion forums for a number of degree study groups I have seen the value of allowing individuals & groups share information, post ideas, ask questions, and sometimes just have a well deserved moan.
What has become clear in running such forums is that people will look for help, or share information, in a way that cannot happen using other networking techniques.
How many times a week do you wonder:
How others handle certain situations?
What other peoples experiences of certain conditions are?
What equipment or drugs other areas use?
What protocols others work to?
What staffing levels are like elsewhere?
What others think of current trends, news stories etc.
Why you're bothering!

etcetera, etcetera, etcetera
Well now you don't need to wait for that next study day, or the yearly conference. Now you can post your question to our message board straight away.
If you have any thoughts, questions, observations, messages of support, or just want to tell me I'm deranged and wasting my time please use the feedback button on the main page.
Why not just give it a try?
